THE ROTTERDAM BAR
BELFAST

The
Rotterdam Bar is situated in Pilot Street in Belfast's Docklands

It was voted
'PRS Music Bar
of the Year 2000'
The
'Rott' (as it's known to the regulars) is a building of historic
interest. For example, did you know that convicts awaiting transportation
to Australia were chained up in this bar whilst waiting to board
the convict ship?
It
has a truly unique atmosphere due to its low ceilings, uneven
floor and even more uneven customers.
The
bar is open late 7 nights a week

THE BAR
HAS NOW BEEN SOLD
Looks
like another one 'bites the dust'
or maybe
not - I received this
e mail from Kevin on Tuesday morning
Hi
Colin, just to let you know that the Rotterdam seems to
be in safe hands. Now no television, quiz on a Monday and
two young guys who are passionate about live music. Layout
much the same.
So they
have gotten rid of the television and the new owners are
into live music so it does sound good. I'll check it out
when I get the chance. As for the quiz changing to a Monday?
I finally managed to visit the Rotterdam
for the first time since it changed ownership and as I thought
- it has hardly changed at all! A coat of paint in the back
bar and no TV in the main bar. Everything else remains much
the same so I'll be back soon. Steven & Dane the new
owners are nice guys and now have their own website with
current info on what's on etc.
